Designers Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec sare particularly fascinated by the traditional Persian art of Kilim production, as becomes clear with Losanges, a carpet collection designed for Nanimarquina.
The Losange, rhombus in French, is a thin carpet that is modulated by rhombi in 13 different colours that when brought together, compose a much larger truncated rhombus.
Hand-crafted in northern Pakistan, each piece has subtle differences that make each unit unique. The wool from Afghanistan is woven and tainted by hand, resulting in unique colour tones.
The Losange collection will be presented at the Maison & Objet fair in Paris from the 21st to the 25th of January 2011.
